Languedoc
Roussillon is a stunning region of France which offers coastal resorts
and long sandy beaches, historic and beautiful cities, towering
mountains, deep gorges, fabulous countryside, and of course lots
of sunshine.
Further afield lie 120 miles of beaches, and some of the best are
within 10 minutes drive of Montpellier. La Grande-Motte, in particular,
offers stunning architecture around a lively Marina, and 3 ¼
miles of sandy beach known as “Le Grand-Travers”.
Historic towns are in abundance, whether it is the medieval walled
town of Aigues-Mortes situated in the Petite Camargue, or the charming
Pezenas, home of Molière.
A short drive into the countryside enables you to experience magnificent
scenery in the region, whether it be the mountains and plateaus,
the deep gorges or the many lagoons which provide a haven for bird
life.
All in all, there is so much to do and see in the Languedoc that
no matter what your interests are, you will never want for an exciting
day out.
